Infinity

Infinity is the idea of all the things that have been, all things that are now, and will ever be. In Avatarhood, Infinity is the elder god. It is the source of six Principles: the Three Great Principles of Truth, Love and Courage. It’s also the source of their opposing Principles of Falsehood, Hatred, and Cowardice.

Infinity is the set of all things good, neutral and evil. It offers no guidance nor direction for life. It’s the symbol for everything as well as nothing. It’s presence and absence, existence and non-existence. It represents all points: real and potential.

Infinity shows us that everything has duality. It’s what allows us to understand the Principles by comparison to their opposites.

“When the people of the world all know beauty as beauty, there arises the recognition of ugliness. When they all know the good as good, there arises the recognition of evil.”

Laozi, The Daodejing

Love is recognized because it’s the opposite of Hatred. We understand Love to be everything Hatred is not. If the world was entirely dark, no stars, no sources of illumination whatsoever that we can recognize as light, there would be no recognition of “dark” either. We wouldn’t say “this is darkness” because there’s nothing that’s not darkness to compare it to.
