Justice

Justice is Truth tempered with Love. Justice is the recognition of right and wrong. It is knowing when to hold others accountable and also when to be understanding of motives. The Principle of Love advises us to strive for equity over equality.

For example: A rich man and a poor man commit the same crime. The fine is $1000. The rich man would not be even slightly burdened by this, while the poor man’s entire wealth is less than the fine. If Justice is applied equally, both being required to pay $1000, the rich man will have no aversion to the crime while the poor man will be placed in even more crippling circumstances.

Equitable justice would increase the fine for the rich man, and reduce the fine for the poor man so that both would face a reasonably similar deterrent to commit the crime again.
